How to Get TherePublic Transport:

The centre is located 14km from Kempsey and there is no public transport available. The centre operates a courtesy bus for scheduled weekend from designated pick up points in Kempsey.

Corner Middleton St & Pacific Highway 08:10 return 11:20 and 11:50 - 14:40

Kempsey Railway Station 8:20am return 11:30 and 12:00 - 14:50

The Quarry Greenhills (Armidale Rd) 08:30 return 11:40 and 12:10 - 15:00

If driving from Kempsey follow the signs to Armidale (Armidale Road) until you reach the turn off to the airport (Sherwood Road).
Take this turn and follow the road for 4 km and you reach a cross roads.

Turn left at the junction (Link Road) and follow the road down for approximately 800m and you will reach the main entrance to the centre on the left.

Education & Skill DevelopmentThe following industries are operational at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre:

The Adult Education and Vocational Training Institute (AEVTI) provides literacy, numeracy and communications courses in all centres. Many centres also offer vocational courses such as Information Technology, Horticulture, Construction, Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft.

AEVTI contracts TAFE NSW and other providers to deliver courses in a range of vocational areas such as Hospitality, Business Skills, Building, Cleaning, Transport, Aboriginal Studies, Horticulture and various WorkCover licenses.

AEVTI also co-ordinates traineeships and apprenticeships and offers support for distance education.

Each centre has a library giving inmates access to a range of fiction, non-fiction and reference books. Inmates can also login to a secure internal network called the Inmate Legal Portal which gives them access to material of a legal nature.
